SCHEDULE

Check-in 8:00-8:30. Parents are asked to verify students names below With cancellations email to chess64@comcast.net and 

Pairings will be posted at 8:45 am

Games begin at 9:00 AM. Target time for award ~3:30 PM.

Entry fee is $23 per child. Sign Up On-line or mail to Chess Star Co POBox 27806 Seattle WA

Deadline APRIL 3th, except students who qualified on 4/3.

After 3/1/2010 the fee Is $28 If space is open

You Can Move To Champions From Challengers At Anytime When Qualify

FORMAT

4 round Swiss; Sections: K-3, 4-6 Time control is G/45

AWARDS

1st-  3rd place TOC trophies in Champions and Challengers

First place in each grade award in Champions and Challengers

TOC Medals –with plates to everyone who did not get a trophy

Clock and Recording

Play with clock and Recording will be required in main tourney

MISC

On Saturday morning call Elena 206-387-1251 after 6:45 am and before 8:30 am with cancellations

Food

Concession will be available at the tournament.

Qualification

Score 5 pts (Champions) or4.5,  4 pts or 3 pts (Challengers I and II ) at any OPEN local chess tournament

 

Players not checked-in by 8:45 will not play first round. Call 206-387-1251 if you are late. When checking in make sure your name is checked properly.

You Can Move From Runner-ups to Challengers, and To Champions  At Anytime When Qualify

K-3, 4-6  Tournament of Champions

AWARDS; Trophies to 1-3 rd place (1st places - 40” trophy)

To qualify:

Players have to score 5 points in a 5 round WA state rated OPEN scholastic tournament in any grade K-6 or combination,

  • The tournament has to be open to all players in the Washington State and be on the Scholastic Calendar. Tournaments that are not on the calendar do not qualify for Champions, but OK for Challengers.
  • No qualification from tournament with rating restrictions (e.g. 5 out of 5 in U800 doesn’t qualify)
  • Only WA state school students are eligible to participate.
  • Play minimum 15 games current season in scholastic tournaments
  • Last year’s 3 champions or Challengers in each section are invited to participate.
  • No qualification by rating is available. 
  • Three Winners of Challengers will be invited to Champions next year

K-3, 4-6 Tournament of Challengers 

This is a Qualifying Invitational Tournament.

To qualify:

  • Players have to score 4 or 4.5  points in a 5 round WA state rated OPEN scholastic tournament in any grade K-6 or combination. 
  • No qualification from tournament with rating restrictions (e.g. 4 out of 5 in U800 doesn’t qualify)
  • Only WA state school students are eligible to participate.
  • Players rated 1050 qualified by rating at the moment of signup
  • Three Winners of Challengers last year are invited to register for Champions

 

K-3, 4-6 ELIGIBILITY – Runner-ups Tournament  This is a Qualifying Invitational Tournament.

  • Players have to score 3 or 3.5 a 5 round WA state rated OPEN scholastic tournament in any grade K-6 or combination. 
  • No qualification from tournament with rating restrictions (e.g. 3 out of 5 in U800 doesn’t qualify)
  • Only WA state school students are eligible to participate.
  • Players rated 950 qualified by rating at the moment of signup
