HOW TO PARTICIPATE in ICC
tournaments: -
1) You have to have ICC membership - see below “HOW TO REGISTER WITH ICC”
2) Log-in to ICC a few minutes before scheduled time –
wait for a tournament to start at
3) When
logged in type: +channel 227
4) Wait for a box asking to accept your game.
5) Do not leave your computer during the game/entire tournament for another acitivity.

you need to withdraw – it is fine but you MUST do a step below to withdraw.

1) You do not have to participate all days scheduled, only when you can,.
2) Attention players - You can withdraw at any time after you completed your current game by typing a command see RULES AND HELP.
3) For late
arrivals - You can ask to enter a tournament if you arrive some time later: before start of round 2 for g/15 tournament, and
before starting round 3 for G/5/5 tournaments.

4) It is required for
you to withdraw from the tournament to be
avoided to get paired next game. See RULES AND HELP. As a
warning you will be taken out of next 2 tournaments if left the tournament
without withdrawal.
5) Do not disconnect during
the tournament. If
disconnection happens log-in back ASAP.

AWARDS: STANDINGS AND AWARDS
SCHEDULE: Tournament schedule is below. You can play any number of tournaments.
TIME CONTROL G/15 and G/5/5
5/5 means that you start with 5 minutes and for each move you get 5 more seconds of additional time.
That makes 3 additional minutes added to your time if you play 36 moves.
HOW TO REGISTER WITH ICC
1) Visit www.chessclub.com
2) Register and select your username (screen name)
3) Download interface
4) Play a few games to see how it works
5) Come back to this page and submit your name to be added to
tournaments
Please note ICC is a place for serious students to
play chess. Your child will need to follow rules of coming on-time, proper
withdrawal, and behavior during the game.
Students’s membership might be suspended
by ICC in case if rules are not followed.

If you do "set quietplay 1", then while you're playing a game you
will not receive shouts, sshouts, channel tells, or kibitzes
from observers, and you won't receive personal tells except from admins or from your opponent.
If you do "set quietplay 2", you will also block "say",
"tell", and "kibitz" from your opponent, in addition to the
things that are blocked above.
