After-school chess clubs 2009-2010

We have a team of qualified chess instructors to teach chess in Elementary and Middle schools.  Our goal is to create a fun and challenging environment for developing important academic skills using game of chess as a tool. We also will encourage and help students who want to play in local or national scholastic chess tournaments.

Three Time US Women’s Champion, WGM Elena Donaldson has 15 years experience teaching local school and private students. Most of Elena’s private students became top players in the State in the Championship sections.

 

We offer full service for after-school chess classes:

1)      Qualified and trained chess instructors,

2)      We teach groups on all levels, or combined: Complete Beginners, Advanced Beginners, Intermediate/Advanced.

3)      We provide “Chess Academy” workbooks on 10 levels for class work, free for club participants. http://www.chessplayer.com/chessacademy.php

4)      Instructors will be using our curriculum developed by WGM Elena Donaldson http://www.chessplayer.com/about_elena.htm , with everything students need to know as appropriate to their level.

5)      WGM Elena will provide help parents by email with all questions on students’ chess improvement.

6)      Homework program for interested students for better improvement, with Chess Academy workbooks

7)      On-line signup at www.chessplayer.com

8)      No parents is required to be present in the class, it is optional.

9)      From one to three sessions a year, during September-May.

 

Class size: Minimum students: from 12 students in the class.
